Scope of work
The UAE regulates private matters through legislation that distinguishes between Muslims and others, allowing non-Muslims a civil family regime in some emirates and, in estates, the application of the law of nationality or a registered will. Establishing the applicable law is the first step in any file, because it bears directly on custody, maintenance and the shares of heirs.
This work has two connected faces: ordering family relationships once disagreement arises, and ordering the transfer of wealth before it does. A registered will and a sound ownership structure can spare a family years of dispute among heirs.
